Recently, we visited Urban in Germany to strengthen our working relationship and deepen our understanding of their systems, processes and support structure.

During our time at Urban’s manufacturing facility in Memmingen, we were able to walk through the operation end to end, from manufacturing and assembly through to testing, shipping preparation and the support functions within the business.

A key takeaway from the visit was the importance of know-how. It was clear how closely Urban listens to partners and window and door manufacturers, and how this experience shapes their understanding of different market requirements. Local standards, design preferences and production methods vary significantly between regions, and Urban’s approach reflects a deep awareness of these differences.

Urban prioritises service and support, backed by specialised teams ensuring machinery is supported long after installation. The machines are built to last, but when support is required, it is treated as a priority.

Urban’s spare parts and dispatch area is well organised, with the parts team closely linked to on-site packaging and logistics. This allows parts to be picked, packed, and dispatched efficiently, a key factor when production is interrupted and time is critical.

Another highlight was Urban’s final testing and inspection hall. Customers and partners are invited to view the setup before it is packed and dispatched.
